Happy May to all,

I'm happy to announce that my side project band, Miriam, that was founded over 7 years ago is finally releasing a cd. It was produced by founding member (and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist) Andy Santospago and we'll be celebrating 7 years of togetherness (and the record) on Sat May 14th. We've built a following at our ongoing monthly residency (last Tuesday of every month at Toad in Porter Square) and are moving up the street to Davis Square on the 14th for a bigger stage and more space to accommodate all y'all.  Steve Morse says, "Music for the sheer pleasure of it is what Miriam is all about. No ulterior motives or grand ambitions, just effervescent harmonies and melodic nirvana from founding membersCarla Ryder and Amy Fairchild, along with their superb band. They play heartfelt originals and covers, mixed with euphoric pop spirit and seasoned with true-life experiences."

Ahoy mates,

I've been a busy little bee continuing to work on this new record thanks to all of you generous people that helped with my Kickstarter campaign. Very excited to share this with you. I've decided to officially release the record in September (September 20th to be exact) with digital downloads for those who pre-ordered available as soon as June. In the last few weeks, among other things, we've tracked horns withRuss GershonChris Trapper came in and laid down some devastating harmonies and Jon Graboff put pedal steel on 3 tracks from his  home studio in NYC. MUCH progress! You can pre-order the record here at this link if you haven't already:

And Leah well...she simply has one of the most beautiful, alto voices on the planet, has quite the resume and she can pen a mean tune. VERY excited for this show.

Good morning/afternoon/evening!

Just a quick one here to mark the halfway point through this Kickstarter campaign. THANK YOU to all who have pre-ordered and pledged so far! I've raised $5445 which is 27% but still a LOT to go. This campaign ENDS at 9:28 am on WED MARCH 9th. If I don't reach my goal, I don't get ANY of the funds and this record will get shelved for the near future. This batch of songs I do feel is my best yet and I so want to share them! If you haven't pre-ordered, please do so now if you can!

Here is me in my living room playing a song that will be on this record called, "When I Was Six And You Were Four".  Enjoy :)

When I Was Six And You Were Four
by Amy Fairchild, So Fair Music/BMI
copyright 2016

Oh, we had fun
Running through the fields in the sun
As the light would fade to pink
We could see her standing at the kitchen sink

Oh, how we grew
Up and out, over, into
Strangers with the same last name
Longing for our home again

There's nothing I can do or say
You gotta ride it out, find your own way
Back to the perfect shore
When I was six and you were four

TIme just beat you down
Aren't you tired of carrying it around?
Like an ancient meteorite
It takes so long to get to the light

So, let's go back
To those fields of thyme and lilac
And the river we'd watch rise
Through wild and innocent eyes

There's nothing I can do or say
You gotta ride it out, find your own way
To the boy inside the candy store
When I was six and you were four

There's nothing I can do or say
You gotta ride it out find your own way
To all the times she waited at the door
When I was six and you were four
When I was six and you were four

"Peter Pan" written by Amy Fairchild/BMI So Fair Music and Adam Steinberg/ASCAP Julayla Music

Tell me you don't love me anymore
Don't you leave me standin' by the back door
I can take it, I can feel the bee sting
So tell me that you don't feel anything

Don't come askin' around
Just because you're back in town
I don't need the let down

And you know it takes
It takes a real man
You're makin' promises that you can break in your two hands
Say goodbye to Peter Pan

Tell me you no longer want to hold me
That you wanna ride back down the river that you sold me
Make it count, i just want to feel it
I put my heart upon the table
But your Momma told you not to steal it

Don't you call me from Idaho
Just to say a simple hello
I don't need a free throw

And you know it takes
It takes a real man
You're makin' promises that you can break in your two hands
Say goodbye to Peter Pan

Don't you call me from Spain
Just to see if i'm ok
I don't need the display
Don't write letters to send
If you're never comin' back again
I don't need another friend

And you know it takes
It takes a real man
You're makin' promises that you can break in your two hands
Say goodbye to Peter Pan
Say goodbye to Peter Pan
Because you know it takes a real ma

Ahoy!

Happy May, everyone!

Just back from a SUPER great weekend on Martha's Vineyard where I saw old friends and made many new ones. MANY thanks to Barbara Dacey from mvyradio for hosting me on-air and at Vineyard Playhouse. The room was packed, great sound and great staff. The show was recorded, thanks again to mvyradio, so stay tuned for some selections from that night.

Great news!!! I am VERY happy to announce that I have taken on a manager, Ken Levy. Ken has 30+ years in the music industry having worked as Senior VP of Creative Services for 13 years at Arista Records under Clive Davis and has executed marketing campaigns for a number of superstar artists including Carlos Santana, Barry Manilow, Usher, Patti Smith and the late Whitney Houston. He also manages emerging artists Matthew Szlachetka, Frank Shiner, Shayna Leigh and Bob Pressner. Ken and I hit it off from the minute we met and I value and respect his many accomplishments in this crazy, tough industry. We're looking forward to moving forward together!

Not so great news, I will NOT be opening for Lee Ann Womack onJune 25th at Johnny D's in Somerville as there will be NO support at all that evening. Working on another great opener there soon...stand by!

MARCH 17th, 2015

Happy Tuesday beautiful people,

It's a quiet couple of weeks on the gig front, time to write and plan more shows for the spring/summer. Had a great time at my old stomping ground,The Iron Horse, in Northampton on March 8th. Mikey Sweet and his band ripped it up! Talented fellows. Some pics from the show HERE. We hope to do more shows together soon so watch for that! I was grateful to have my talented new songwriter friend, Matthew Szlachetka with me on guitar. It went so well, in fact, that we'll be doing some more shows together in the near future, including one in Northern, CA at the end of April (details below!).

SEPT 2013
Helloooooo everyone!

It's been a little while. The summer has come and gone (well, almost...so sad) and I wanted to send a little note to update you all. 7 songs are in the can already (that's more than half!) for this new record. Paul Kolderie has done a fantastic job of mixing from his studio in upstate NY and I thank him greatly for his discerning ear. All are available at this link and, of course, on itunes as well:

www.amyfairchild.com/newrecord

All full band tracks are now mixed (the last being "Pieces" whch is being tweaked as we speak) which leaves 3 more acoustic-type songs that will be recorded this month at Kissy Pig in Allston with Andy Santospago on guitar, Jef Charland on upright bass and me on guitar and piano. Adam Steinberg will produce (as always). The intention is to capture them live and rather simply. However, knowing us we will be so excited about the new tracks that we will soon want to expand them into more complicated arrangements with all manner of horns, a small symphony and then...just when we think we're finished...we'll have to have the sound of soft rain falling on the plain at the end of the second verse but only if recorded on a cheap mic in a far away land...and we'll nearly kill ourselves and everyone around us to make it "perfect". JUST KIDDING. The end of this project is near and I'm really happy with all of it so far. Thank all of you who have helped make it possible with your donations and support. :)

Keep your eye on my
Facebook page, my website and the Miriam Facebook page for upcoming shows!

Happy Almost Fall.
Love you all.

Amy
